Long Term Dogs

Our Long Term dogs are dobes who are more difficult to re-home because they have special needs and require a specific owner/home environment.

Many of the dogs that come to DWA are difficult to re-home having past histories of neglect, abuse, or having no training or socialisation with other dogs or people. Whilst we endeavour to find the right home for these dogs because of their special requirements they can spend a long time in kennels.

Generally the long term dogs are not appropriate for first-time Dobermann owners. They may need to be the only dog in the household, or are not compatible with a family environment.

Such requirements put additional restrictions on finding suitable homes, meaning the ongoing costs for looking after these dogs in kennels whilst rehabilitating them puts a considerable drain on our finances.

The Long-Term Dogs Sponsorship Scheme raises funds which contribute towards their kennelling and veterinary costs.

If you would like to sponsor one of our Long Term Dogs using your Credit or Debit card via PayPal please click on your chosen dog and you will be taken to our payments page. The minimum payment is £10 per dog per year of sponsorship.

Sponsors will receive a Certificate of Sponsorship together with information and a photograph of their chosen dog together with a twice yearly update on their progress. This is a popular gift - ideal as a present for someone special.
