About The DWA And Our Membership
The Dobermann Welfare Association was formed approximately 15 years ago by a small group of dedicated volunteers, who between them have many years' experience caring for and re-homing Dobermanns.
Dobermann Welfare Association became a Limited Company in July 2000.
Please see our frequently asked questions page.
The aim of the Association is to re-home Dobermanns who have come to us because their owners are no longer able to keep them, for whatever reason, or they have been abandoned. We will accept them subject to available homes, kennel space and funding.
We try to assess each dog and bitch that we accept into the organisation, and we visit prospective new homes. By taking into consideration the specific needs of each dog and the requirements of the new owners we can try to match the right dog to the right home. By following this procedure we hope to find loving and permanent homes for our rescue Dobes.
Our kennelling and veterinary costs are ever increasing, because often the dogs are with us for quite some time until the right home can be found. All those who work for the Association are volunteers and receive no form of payment, which means that all of our funds are used for the care and welfare of the dogs.
To help support the funding of Dobermann Welfare we have a Membership Scheme whereby members receive a quarterly magazine - please Join Our Association
If you would like to become a volunteer helper, please contact our Treasurer and Re-Homing Co-ordinator, Sue Garner. Telephone on (01895) 253578 if you leave a message please give a land line number or e-mail Sue on sue@dobermannwelfare.org.uk
Please help us to help the dogs – we can only continue to be successful with your help and support.
